The song was influenced by Peter Townsend of The Who. It started off as more of a power pop song.... Now it's migrated towards punk! |

Our Reggae song. I woke up one Saturday afternoon, in Mesa, AZ, in the mid ninties, after taking a nap, coming out of a dream. I had this song in my head and spent twenty minutes trying to figure out what I heard, before I could translate it to guitar. |
| King of the Highway | A funky upbeat song. Written in the back seat of a Chevy Nova on the way to Southern California from Chicago in July 1980. Special thanks to my oldest brother David, who provided me with the inspiration and idea to write these lyrics. He was telling me about a story he had written and I adapted his story to music. I would also like to thank his Nova. |
| Set Me Free | A mellow song that I wrote on the beach in Oceanside, California about being free. I had just graduated high school and was just about to enter tech school. |
| Burn Down The City | What can you say about a song that contains "Death, Destruction in our wake!"? The Marines in Camp Pendleton liked this song! Killer Guitar Arpeggio! |
| Inner City Blues | About drugs and depression. Some of my Chicago experiences show here. Yet this song is as much about hope as it is about desperation. As is the blues. |
| Running in Place | There's a certain buzz you get after drinking wine and picking up the guitar and trying to write a song. This is one of the results. |
| Insane | Power pop with good old fashioned "power chords" and "lead solo playing". Guaranteed to be stuck in your head the rest of your life! |
| No Return | A "mellow-dramatic" song. Modulates to A Major on the chorus (for you music enthusiasts). |
| Let Me Know | A bluesy moody song with a stark contrast switching from
strong clean dark Em bluesy/jazzy chording to a hard rock chord
progression! This song was inspired by my mother who left me a note in my bedroom to "Let me know when you come home". I do think of my mother everytime I play this song . . . . |
| Sweet Freedom | One of the mellowest/grooviest songs that ever
existed. How can such a simple song express so much emotion? I sometimes feel that I didn't write it as much as I did "uncover it". |
| Another Day |
A bluegrass influenced song that rocks out?? Living in Chicago and writing bluegrass! Written in the 80's (pre-Arizona) A psychic premonition? |
| Cabaret Hell | Dark and cynical with real jazz
influence. For those of you who think I'm faking it: It rotates from a Em to F#m7flat5. On the bridge it then goes to an Am7 to a Bm7 to a C6. Probably won't get airplay on fake jazz stations. |
| Eternal Fire | Starts off dark and scary and starts driving! The Doors were an influence on this one. A friend of mine called it Acid-Surf-Punk! |
| Danger Zone | Controlled mania! What would you expect for a song about nuclear destruction? Jimi's riffs were my training ground! How many people know that he was a para-trooper? |
| In the Critic's Eye | A hard edged riff-based number condemning critics. Hey! I don't like what you're thinking about right now! |
